I've just heard some really shocking news. The Royal British Legion are not selling poppies in certain areas on Nov 11 this year. This is because some minorities say that it will upset them. I say sod off ... The poppy is a symbol of reverence for our fallen heroes of all the wars the BRITISH military have fought in. BRITAIN STAND UP AND SAY 'WE WANT THE POPPY SOLD EVERY WHERE IN THE UK'. THIS IS OUR RIGHT TO REVERE OUR FALLEN.. PLEASE RE-POST
What actually happened was Birmingham city council decided that only one charity could be in the city centre at a time asking for money unfortunately by the time The British Legion had applied for the position the available spots had been taken by Oxfam and Shelter.
When the other charity's heard they had taken the spot wanted by The British Legion they instantly offered it back and poppies can now be sold in the city centre.
A spokesman for the Royal British Legion in Birmingham said: ‘It was very generous of Shelter and Oxfam to give up their slots and we’re delighted this has all been resolved for everybody.’
