Corrie’s Helen Flannigan has confirmed she is leaving the cobbles after 12 years of playing diva Rosie Webster, Helen first starred in the soap in 2000 at the tender age of 10 as Sally and Kevin Webster’s elder daughter.
Helen has recently been suffering with panic attacks and last week moved back home with her parents, however Helen has stated that this is not the reason for leaving the soap.
It is believed she will leave three moths prior to her contract ending and her final scenes will air February time, Flannigan said 'I have played Rosie for more than half my life and I feel the time has come for me to move on and try something new.
'I am very excited about what the future might hold for me. I have loved playing Rosie and during my time growing up on Corrie I have made some amazing friends and learned an awful lot.'
Coronation Street's producer Phil Collinson added: "We are sorry to see Helen go but wish her every success for the future." Her exit storyline is obviously under wraps but its believed that it will enable her to return if she chooses.
I for one am pleased about this news as over recent years she has become ridiculous on so many levels and that stupid poutand her recent story lines about becoming a model have been poor and frankly boring. Though I am interested to know what she will do next and if she can act any differently to her character Rosie or whether she will just become some 'it/party girl'....
