Bad things about Google Ads on websites
As someone who has displayed adverts on my sites I know something about Google ads or Google Adsense for publishers.
One of my pet hates when it comes to those Google adverts, or rather one of my pet hates when it comes to displaying Google ads on my own websites is the annoying fact that they display in "bold" text.
The reason I find this irritating is that I write and write near the adverts and therefore the adverts draw attention from the words.
Obviously this is what they are designed to do. If you are using Google Adwords you will like the idea that Google displays those adverts with bold text so that they do indeed draw the eye. That's what adverts are supposed to do after all "draw the eye"!.
It can be no wonder then that the internet is full of rubbish!
We see website after website where to get to read the content one must scroll down the page to get past these huge adverts that take up half the page just below any horizontal navigation below headers usually if that is the page structure used.
It is no wonder then we see masses of people buying and selling articles in order to provide content in order to display the ads that earn them the money. It is easy to buy hundreds of articles for a few dollars these days and with a bit of editing (which many don't even bother with) you can fill a site with content just for the purpose of displaying adverts hoping to get clicks.
Look around the web you will find hundreds and thousands (no not those little sugary things) of websites around full of articles displaying ads with little else.
Some of the bigger sites do it another way by using a quick paragraph that is short and sweet and just about meets the needs to a search engine spider to see it as relevant when coupled with some good SEO and they then stick that below some half a page of ads and also as one ad can be that half page surround it with a couple of other ads to.
Well I don't like this all that much as I don't like the bold text standing out too much when I am trying my best to write nicely without having to resort to writing in bold text to compete with a Google ad for attention.
Oh well I dropped Google ads so it's not a problem, as I only really ever put them in place to study them anyway, so it is not great loss and as it was never my intention to make the clicking of Google ads my living it will annoy me no more RE my sites.
But how do you feel about that from your perspective?
Do you have any pet hates RE Google ads, Google Adverts, Google Adsense or for that matter Google Adwords?

, moderators get 2, everything else is negotiable.
