    Jamhunters Interview

Jamhunters are a Copenhagen (Denmark) based band.

    The band members include

    Lars Fabiansen-guitars

    Peter Michael- keyboards

The band are signed to Gateway Music

The band have a website www.jamhunters.com

    Jamhunters on MySpace

Jamhunter's debut album was released in august 2006. Their second album "Music Speaks Louder Than Words" was released on march 15. 2008.

Many well known guests were assembled to play along with Jamhunters. Artists like Hans Ulrik, Klaus Menzer, Christina Boelskifte, André Sørensen, Bo Fabiansen, Claus Suhr and Moussa Diallo.

CHRIS MINH DOKY is also guest performing on the latest album "Music Speak Louder Than Words". CHRIS MINH DOKY is normally based in New York and visited the Jamhouse studio in Copenhagen and recorded 2 tracks "NO ONE LIKE YOU" and "MUSIC SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS".

Jamhunters' second guest performer hailing from New York is FRANK SENIOR. He was born and raised in Harlem where jazz played a major role in his musical career and that is very clearly reflected in his singing.

    To quote "Jamhunters"

"We ran into Frank in New York last autumn. We were there to play a few club gigs and accidentally heard Frank humming to a live band. We simply had to persuade him to work with us on our next album", unquote

Lars from Jamhunters says. Listen to Frank on the track: ONE MORE MINUTE available on MySpace.

I took a listen to "One more minute" and found Frank Senior to have a smooth deeply resonant voice, to my ears like a cross between Stevie Wonder and Barry White though others may not hear that comparison as there is a likeness to other artists who I cannot quite put my finger on.

The Jamhunters play a smooth laid back Jazz/Lounge style that you will find easy on the ear, soulful and that will have your head nodding along to the soft guitar and piano melodies.

The Jamhunters are a smooth classy and polished act.

So my first questions to the Jamhunters are

Who are your biggest influences and why?

Where, apart from the obvious things that come to mind, did the name "Jamhunters" come from?

How would you describe your sound?

Who are your biggest influences and why?
George Benson for his fantastic sound and talent. Burt Bacharach for his incredible harmonic compositions.

Where, apart from the obvious things that come to mind, did the name "Jamhunters" come from?
It started out with the simple thing that we would like the name to refer to the thing that most of our music sounds like we are jammin. The end of the name came because we're always lookin (huntin) a nice tune, groove, gig, whatever.

How would you describe your sound?
Our sound is close to creamy - groovy and dusty.

I think my Dad would love your sound he has many George Benson Albums/C D's in his large music collection. I shall have to make him aware of you as I think your polished style would appeal to him.

He is really into "Soul" and the laid back Jazzy type sound.

He is also really into Kenny G to and has a thing for that Sax sound which I must say I share to, nothing like a bit of classy sounding easy listening sounds to relax to and to make a person feel good.

Please feel free to quote that decription if you would like to.

I had a feeling the answer to the question on the Jamhunters name was as I thought but nevertheless it is aways nice to confirm I had my thinking right.

You are presently (at time of my posting 28th of Sept 2008) on your second album. So which tracks do you most like playing from both albums and/or which tracks are you best pleased with and feel are the most memorable and why?

    Hi
Here is the answer to your latest questions:

You are presently at time of my posting 28th of Sept 2008) on your second album.
So which tracks do you most like playing from both albums and/or which tracks are you best pleased with and feel are the most memorable and why?

Actually we love to play almost all the songs. 'Musics Gonna Get You' fron the first has a really nice , swingin groove and the kind of jam we really like. 'No One like You' and 'Room For Milk' from the second album are so soft and nice and sounds really good in every band-constellation.

Who does the vocals on the vocals on "No One Like You" Pete & Lars I am
listening to it on MySpace as I type this and wow that girl's voice is amazing!

You are right about the vocal on 'No One Like You'. It is Christina Boelskifte . She's singing all the melodilines on both album. She has that soft sound we love so much. She also wrote the lyrics. Christina is with us on our NYC tour soon.

    Best-

    Thank you Peter & Lars

Christina Boelskifte wow now Christina Boelskifte is one lady I for one think it is more than a little pleasant to here sing!

    Peter & Lar's

Humour me please (I am going to ask most artists this, within their first few posts)

What are the top three - top five and top ten tracks you would list as your biggest influences.

You can of course add to this as and when things change.
