No safety adverts

For years we all had weeks of safety adverts with fireworks in the weeks leading up to November the 5th - the uk day we celebrate failure.

People always hurt themselves its an inevitable thing, putting the adverts on TV did not change the figures, the more they showed the figures remained the same, so to save themselves about 3m quid they pulled the adverts - result no change.

Interesting you mention the lack of adverts blackbeard I hadn't really thought about the lack of "Safety Adverts" recently!

Three million is quite a saving!

And although I am not a fan of Guy Fawkes night and all the fireworks that undoubtedly earn some Chinese factory owners and importers and distributors in the UK a good bit of wonga, whilst people especially the older and wiser and many animals suffer a nightmare scenario, I find it hard to live with such an annual celebration, which to my mind is a somewhat ridiculous festival.

I'm sure I saw one advert for sparklers about wearing gloves and placing in a bucket of water afterwards a week or so ago or was it a radio advert I cannot recall though it was the only one.

I think people need reminding about the dangers only tonight I saw one plonker setting up his next firework while he squatted down next to the one that was already going off, I thought you stupid man and yet he was telling the children to stand well back

Why does the world need fireworks at all? They are not only hazardous to their users. They additionally release plenty of brain destroying poisonous heavy metals into the air and produce much worse amounts of particulate matter than all the automobiles and coal stoves together. If the EU would realy take its efforts of avoiding particulate matter seriously, they should start with banning fireworks instead of restricting car traffic.

The cyberage's mankind should employ laser shows instead - although their light may also disturb some birds and flying insects of the night, they are certainly much more environmental friendly than firework rockets.

Why indeed?

Anyone who get's found promoting fireworks or similar in their sigs here on TVWorlds will soon see we will not allow or entertain such things.

Truth and only allowing things that we are ethically and morally comfortable with is much more important than just money here on TVWorlds!

So saying if you spot anything you are not comfortable with or feel that a link in someone's sig is something that promotes things that are questionable (like Fireworks - The Gunpowder kind) PM me and let me know as they won't stay in place for long!

Hey, witch hunts don't make this world better but only produces dictatorships! But clearing up about unlogical stupidities would help.

I e.g. consider it as one of the most important tasks of the mankind to employ all its technological knowledge to overcome its dependencies on 1.) fossil fuels and 2.) on the necesarity of animal cruelty for nutrition (by developing perfectly healthy animal-free foods) to make a genuinely ethical progress possible.

(Yet I am not vegan but "only" vegetarian (eat much cheese/ milk products), because I am not ready to waste most of my daylife with preparing complicated foods to avoid malnutrition.)
