Police Tackle Binge Drinking With Flip Flops

The police have come up with a questionable idea in a £30,000 scheme to help woman return home safety after binge drinking, woman who wear high heeled shoes will be is offered the free flip flops upon leaving nightclubs.

The idea has come after fears for woman’s safety were raised, woman who become drunk and wear heels like stiletto’s when drunk are likely to sustain injury to their foot or ankle.

Women often end up walking home bare foot after a night out and the free flip flops will be a welcome comfort to their sore aching feet, the flip flops also carry a message about safe drinking.

MissTVWorlds adds: Ok I get the idea but surely police should be doing some real police work not standing around with a bag of flip flops and I also question the way this £30,00 grant is being spent could they not have come up with something better though this might cut down the number of injured drunks attending A & E.

How many flip flops will be handed out in the space of a month to one woman lets say who goes out every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday?
It is my opinion if a woman chooses to binge drink and either falls over in her heels or cuts her foot walking bare foot that’s her stupid fault she should carry some pumps in her handbag.

Though I repeat it may cut a small number of people attending A & E though I believe most are to drunk to know if they are injured and will be to embarrassed the next day to receive any treatment and will pop a plaster over it!

they would be better off spending the money on a free service to get them off the streets when their howling drunk ! how are you supposed to make your way home in flip flops! jeepers..... what next, a sunbed on the pavement to go with the flip flops !

dont serve people that are overly drunk already....it's the law anyway.
If landlords were more vigilant, there wouldnt be so many casualties piling out of he pubs !
but they also have to make a living....

I think profits or not night clubs have a responsibility to to decide when someone is totally out of it and refuse to serve them - it does them no favours I'm sure drunk people often cause trouble in one way or another, as for the flip flops it's a joke because I cannot where them I trip in them sober and often graze my toe!

I agree, if a bobby handed me a pair of flipflops of an evening of lashing it up~ i would probably want to give his botty a good span**** with one !! and get arrested !! lol..
