Anyone Here Like Sigur Ros?

Sigur Ros is a band like no other. From Iceland, they describe themselves as a "rock band", but yet create atmospheric soundscapes that put you in another world.

The singer doesn't sing words, but rather his own language where his voice is yet another instument. It's truly mesmerizing.

I first heard them when they were on the soundtrack to Vanilla Sky and the mood of the piece really elevated the scene on the top of the building with Tom and Penelope...beautiful...lovely...captivating...

I just checked and their official Myspace page is simply "sigurros" on there.

The lead singer/guitarist, Jonsi, also has a new solo album out now. He plays guitar with a bow to get that mournful sound and it's quite fascinating to watch him play on stage. It's rare to see that kind of passion in concert, as there are so many musicians these days who just seem to be doing it for the limelight and music videos. I prefer raw emotion.
